Nicole’s
paintings evolve from a lengthy process of working layer
upon layer; scraping, erasing, uncovering. She explores the
paint itself. Nicole talks of her investigations seeking
a new vocabulary of signs and images “... that lead
to new enigmas to elucidate, a poetic promenade to question
and approach the inner world.” Inspiration is often
found in mythology and poetry.

Nicole works mainly with oil on paper,
adding colour pigments for the smooth texture and its transparency.
Scale of works varies widely from small vignettes to large
pieces where the paper is applied to canvas.
